iChute is monitoring buildup material in critical transfer chutes with 2D scan. Especially in the crushing and screening plant, but as well in shuttle transfers and reclaimer central chutes material is building up at the walls and cause chute blockages. Currently only tilt switches or microwave barriers are used as 1/0 binary signal. These are often causing false positives (mount too close to bulk stream) or false negatives / too late alarms (too far off stream)
Depending on the geometry of the vessel the radar sensors are installed inside or outside, measuring material level and volume 15 times per second in 2D/3D. The complex measurement outputs are reduced to a PLC readable format.

indurad proved in a benchmarking field test – comparing indurad radar sensors against a leading industrial laser scanner – that, the standard deviation between radar and laser was only 0.03m, respectively. RWE considers the accuracy of indurad’s radars equal to that of laser sensors. RWE choose to install indurad because of the significantly higher availability offered by radar’s reliable performance under adverse conditions.
