A Quantum Leap for Bulk Terminals
To improve port operations, EECV Rotterdam is using a combination of Indurad solutions.
Learn how the customer uses the solutions for individual benefits and how they are combined for a quantum leap in bulk terminal operations.
Potash & Sulphur Terminal
Shiploader Type: Quadrant
Commodity: Potash, Sulphur
Country: Canada
Terminal added additional material handling capabilities. Thus the shiploader boom needed to be replaced. With the indurad remote control system to control the shiploader from an office, the operator cabin on the boom was removed. This reduced weight allows more bulk on the boom, resulting in higher machine throughput. Also, the loading process has become partially automatic.
Solution Packages:
Collision Avoidance (boom, chute), Remote Control, partial automation (e.g. changing hatches, return to parking position, change chutes, automatic shipscan and identification of hatches, stockpile surface scanning in hatch in real time e.g. for trimming)
Iron Ore Terminal
Shiploader Type: Barge Loader
Commodity: Iron Ore
Country: Netherlands
The new built shiploader comes with an fully integrated collision avoidance and automation package to boost performance.
Solution Packages:
Collision Avoidance, Remote Control, partial automation
Manganese Terminal
Shiploader Type: Curved boom shiploader
Commodity: Manganese
Country: Gabon
Manganese Shiploader boom collision avoidance and position measurement (encoder replacement).
Solution Packages:
3D Collision Avoidance (Boom), Operator Assistance (GNSS)
Alumina Terminal
Shiploader Type: Continous Shipunloader
Commodity: Alumina
Country: Canada
Retrofit of an existing continuous Shipunloader for Alumina to protect collisions with ship and other shiploaders. Special requirements due to ultra low temperatures.
Solution Packages:
Collision Avoidance (left, right, under the Boom, especially the Hydraulic Cylinder connecting horizontal and vertical boom)
Coal Terminal
Shiploader Type: Dual Quadrant
Commodity: Coal
Country: Canada
Retrofit of two existing Quadrant Shiploaders. Special requirement for collisions with the Ship and special CAS requirements to return to the parking position. Protecting shiploader cables while moving into and out of cradle position was a key requirement.
Solution Packages:
Collision Avoidance (Boom), Position measurement (GPS)
Iron Ore Terminal
Shiploader Type: Long travel
Commodity: Iron Ore
Country: Australia
Shiploader equipped with operator assistance system. The system provides operators a view of the material loaded into the hatch in real time, allowing the operator to see material flow into the hatch (and not onto the deck) and distribute material evenly in the hatch also with a simple discharge mechanism. This is considered as the first step to full automation.
Solution Packages:
Operator Assistance (in Cabin)
Coal Terminal
Shiploader Type: Telescopic boom shiploader
Commodity: Coal
Country: Canada
